Oregon’s First “Day of Remembrance”

September 19 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

You are invited to join people of faith from all over our state.

You can also find information for both offerings on our Common Table website here, and here, and you can RSVP for 9/19 by emailing commontable@emoregon.org.  If you feel so moved, we hope you will share this opportunity in your own faith community, or with other faith communities, you might be affiliated with.

Events:

6:30p-7:30p

We’ll start with an online liturgy* marking the actual anniversary of the death of Alonzo Tucker on 9/18, and the ongoing need for a “Day of Remembrance.”  (*As part of this liturgy, we are hoping each of you can bring a cup of dirt/soil from either where you live or from your faith community’s land.  Any soil from Oregon state will do however.)

7:30p-8:30p

An informational session on the second Reckoning with Racism Cohort starting in October 2021.  We’ve designed a new 9 month cohort for communities that participated last year, and for new communities engaging in this material for the very first time.  For more info about the continuation of this work, and to register, check out this link.
