About the session: Join us every fourth Saturday for a silent meditation retreat led by the Rev. Chris Bell. Begin, invigorate, or deepen your meditation practice in community at this all-levels monthly gathering, with an hour of silent meditation—two sessions of sitting and a short walking meditation—followed by a guided discussion.
Newcomers are always welcome and instructions will be provided. Whether your silent meditation practice is centering prayer, transcendental meditation, one of the Buddhist forms, or something else, you will find support for your practice in this gathering. Discussions emphasize aspects of practice over any particular form or philosophy. If you are just beginning a silent meditation practice, you will find support for that as well!
About the leader: The Rev. Chris Bell is a longtime practitioner of Zen and was recently named Zen Teacher in the Harada-Yasutani lineage. After graduating from Harvard Divinity School, Chris served a Unitarian-Universalist congregation in Santa Rosa, California for 15 years, and currently serves as the chaplain for VistaRiver Hospice in the Portland area.
