Holy Hikes NW Oregon
May 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
We know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little time experiencing nature in community with fellow travelers. Here at Holy Hikes: NW Oregon, the core of our efforts is to bring people together in the midst of creation, to foster an encounter with the Sacred. We do this through local hikes in the Portland metro area which include readings from holy scripture, prayers, silence, conversation, and (if you feel so called) receiving the bread and wine of the Eucharist.
Our next hike will take place on Saturday, May 15, starting at 10:00am.
We will meet at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge for a 2+ mile walk – done in a COVID safe manner through wearing a mask, social distancing, and individualized sani-communion cups for the bread and wine.
We would describe this as an easy hike, with no significant elevation gains, mostly walking on graveled paths. Sturdy walking or light hiking shoes are adequate. Just a reminder that Holy Hikes meets rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the conditions on the day.
With our improving weather and COVID restrictions it is time to get out (safely) to enjoy community with others and communion with God’s creation, we hope that you will consider joining us!
Please go to the Holy Hikes web page for more information on Holy Hikes and to register your participation.
