Dear friends in Christ,
I write to announce a change in the staffing at the diocesan office. Effective May 14, 2021, the position of Canon for Administration will be dissolved. A search for an Executive Assistant to the bishop is currently underway, and an announcement of a hire will be shared publicly once the process is complete. We are also re-imagining the formation of deacons, along with the best way to support the work of deacons in this diocese. Therefore, effective the same date, the role of Archdeacon will also be dissolved. New models for organizing and supporting deacons will be a priority for the diocese moving forward.
Please join me in thanking the Rev. Dcn. Carter Hawley who has served in both these capacities for the past 3 years. She has utilized her strengths and gifts to serve ably under Bishop Hanley, and we look forward to her continued ministry as a deacon in this diocese.
